Update!

Hola my fellow Dukan Dieters! I'm so sorry for the delay in information. I misplaced my laptop cord and could not log on!

What a whirlwind its been! I am proud to say I am down 8lbs in 10 days on this eating plan. Whoot Whoot! The hardest part remains the food of course but to see that scale FINALLY move in the reverse direction is so great!

I will say that I have had my slips but have not had much consequence for it. I love the ice cream cones at McDonald's and have gotten then the last two days and have still lost weight. But I don't eat the cone just the ice cream. This tells me that I am still taking in less calories than burning so that's a happy sigh! I did splurge and had a bowl of frosted flakes cereal last night -GASP!- and let me tell you it was soooooooooooooooooo good. You would have thought I ate the most decadent meal in the world but I did not want to gain weight and was very scarred. Needless to say the scale was exactly the same this morning at 7:00am so as much as I wished I had NOT eaten it at least it did not go backward and I am resuming my all protein diet.

When I logged into the website it said all protein for 7 days. I made the choice to make it longer. My plan is to loose 10 lbs on all protein and then go protein+vegetable. So far so great!

Day Three!

UGH! No weight loss no weight gain.. Exactly 228.4.. So I went back to the book to see if I am doing something wrong and one of the great things about Dr. Dukan is that he addresses all sorts of problems people encounter in the weight loss battle... mine happens to be that "time" of the month. An expert from his book says "A women gains about 2-4 lbs during this time of month from water retention" so as MUCH as I really really want to eat my frustration away with a McDonalds strawberry shake and small fry (my usual cure-all) I didn't and wont....so I did not loose any weight in ONE day... I can tell my body is changing in just the itsy bitsiest way so I am holding on. YEAH ME!

Oh Dr. Dukan's book also says on day three your hunger usually does away and your energy comes back...my experience has been a little different.

Day ONE: HORRIBLY HARD:
Day TWO: MUCH BETTER...
DAY THREE: UGH! Hard and hungry all day
Day FOUR: Not hungry at all, drank tons of water
Day FIVE: We shall see!

Day 2 eats results and tips....

Drum roll please! I lost 1 lb 8 ounces.. that's almost 2 pounds! Whoot! For a total of 2 lbs 8 ounces in two days.. So happy..so motivated..Hmmm Motivation...what a strange word to roll off my tongue after so long of living in frustration land....

Breakfast:

2 Lipton tea bags with milk creme (1% milk + low fat vanilla soy milk with cinnamon and sweet n low added)
5 egg whites + 1 egg

Lunch:

I had errands to run so I grabed my milk creme added so ice and went out the door- probably drank a good16 oz

Snack:
Home starving from errands I rolled smoked turkey lunch meat into a slice of 2% provolone cheese and devoured it

Dinner:
I mixed low fat ground turkey with a package of low fat 8 grams of fat per 4 oz of hamburger meat plus lots of Mrs Dash table blend and salt, pepper, and garlic salt and made big meat balls. I also added no-fat creme cheese into the inside of the meatballs and they were DELICIOUS! I only ate 1 at dinner with some spicy brown mustard. YUM

After Dinner Snack:

Two provolone cheese and turkey lunch meat wraps, half a meat ball from dinner and a sugar free, fat free jello cup.

You may notice I have not consumed any of the required Oat bran yet and it was because I did not have any. I found two different types at my local Safeway grocery store and will have my 1 1/2 teaspoons today.

TIP OF THE DAY:
I have two. I discovered we can have pickles. PICKLES! I love and adore a good pickle so I will incorporate these into my cooking soon and to add variety to my trusty fruit punch crystal light I bought no sugar no carbs no salt Perrier water and now add it to my drink and its really yummy and fizzy!

TTFN my fellow Dukans!

Marinated Barbecued Chicken (Attack + Cruise + Consolidation + Stabilization)

 2 servings

Ingredients:

Two half chicken breasts
Marinade:
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
2 teaspoons Sriracha sauce
2 tablespoons Pickled Peppers Pre-mix
1 tablespoon lemon zest (optional)
2 tablespoons chopped, fresh herbs

Lime Dipping Sauce:

1 cup fat-free lime yogurt (can use plain Greek yogurt with lime extract)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs

Instructions:

1. Mix all the ingredients well and marinate two half chicken breasts (boneless or bone-in) in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 hours, or overnight. Make sure the chicken is completely coated with the yogurt mixture.
2. When you're ready to cook the chicken, remove it from the marinade and wipe off the excess marinade to make sure it doesn't burn during cooking.
3. Barbecue the chicken for about 10 minutes on each side. Or bake it in a 350°F oven for 20 minutes. If using skewers, make sure to soak them in water for an hour.

Pickled Peppers:

You’ll need a jar of whole or sliced gherkins or dill pickles (no salt added), a small can of pickled, sliced jalapenos from the Mexican aisle of the supermarket, and a small bottle of capers. (These
may be in the condiment section or you can find the Goya brand in the Mexican food section.)
Measure out:
1 cup gherkins, drained
1 cup jalapenos, drained
Chop finely in the food processor, but don’t puree.
(makes enough for future use in other dishes)

Add:
¼ cup capers, drained (optional)

Lime Dipping Sauce:

May serve with lime dipping sauce. Heat fat-free lime yogurt very gently in the microwave or on the stove on medium heat. Do not boil. Add a tablespoon of chopped fresh herbs

Day Two!

Hello Happy Dukan Dieters!

Well its officially day two even though  posted my first day of the diet this morning I officially started it on Monday the 22nd.

I lost 1 lb. Whoot! The headaches, the tired-ness, the unsure-ness (is this a word?) was all worth it. Do you know how hard it is too loose a lb in a single day for me!

AND... I am stoked to say I woke up this morning with no headache and a new resolve! I went back to the Dukan site to read a few success stories and one was truly inspiring and motivating, coupled with my 1 lb loss and I am moving forward.

This morning I learned something new... I discovered if you drink something warm it really helps with hunger. If you read my 1st blog you know I skipped the coffee fix yesterday and paid for it dearly later with a headache. So this morning I put two teabags in a huge cup of hot water and added my warm vanilla milk/soymilk discovery to it and added lots of sweet n low (I have to go out and get splenda later) and it was scrumptious. I did not make coffee simply because I ran out so I will try coffee tomorrow morning and save my tea maybe for mid afternoon!

After drinking the tea I was not hungry until about 10:30am so then I made 5 egg whites with 1 regular egg with a pinch of olive oil and lots of black pepper and salt.

Lunch to come soon!

TTFN Friends!
